Quality Senior Assisted Care Is Our Passion
We are committed to providing quality senior personal care in a family setting. Our residents thrive in an environment that promotes the highest level of physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual well being. Joining together with others is a satisfying way to reconnect with life, especially in small intimate settings. Eating our meals together around one table promotes a sense of Oneness in community…
Since The Beginning..
Shelby’s primary focus has centered around creating a place that feels like home and where one can age in place with grace without the worry that he or she will be asked to leave as the end of life draws closer. Along with the option of Hospice, if needed, Shelby and Staff welcome families and friends who wish to participate in this transitioning miracle…
Shelby House Inc includes Shelby House I and Shelby House II with Shelby’s private residence in between. We are located east of East Helena and west of the Spokane Hills, smack dab under some of Montana’s best Big Sky Country. Residents love the expansive views visible in every direction. Peace and joy, safety and comfort are all part of our mission for the good life at the Shelby House.
From East Helena, follow HWY 12 for six miles. Turn left at flashing yellow light onto Spokane Creek Road. In two miles, turn left onto Spokane Ranch Road. Shelby House I is the first driveway to the right. Shelby House II is the third driveway to the right. Call to make an appointment for a tour: 406-475-3621 or 406-475-9347. Ask for Shelby.
Shelby Cleveland’s residence is nestled between Shelby House I and II, forming the basis of a solid sense of community. The design of the properties and placement of the homes across generous acreage provides a spacious quality for indoor and outdoor communal gatherings. Equally important is each resident’s bedroom…that pleasant and inviting private space that’s yours and yours alone.
Life At The Shelby House
If you love being able to see the sun rise in the east and set again in the west, the Shelby Houses offer front row seats with panoramic views in every direction. If you desire the serenity that comes with living in the country yet want all the amenities a city has to offer, we love to go to town! Whether by our own Shelby House bus or van, we’re only 10 minutes from East Helena and 20 minutes from Helena.
Every day of the week as we sit down to meals, we share whatever is in our hearts and minds. Whether it’s the news, the weather, a movie, everything has the potential to stir the memory banks. Once upon a time has evolved to I remember when…. We relish our shared experiences. Card and table games warm hearts, bring out the chuckles and stimulate brain cells. Jokes that tickle the Funny Bone are a must. We’ve a great selection of large print books and a variety of regular subscriptions. Every Wednesday we travel to the Senior Center in East Helena for lunch and Bingo. By popular request, seven days a week, we gather in our living rooms for Sit and Be Fit.
And That’s Not All…
Thursday mornings, Lowell Bartells, offers a special non-denominational Bible study. We reflect, offer prayers and healing to ourselves, each other and our precious world. Spring, Summer, and Fall, weather permitting, we board our bus to participate in community events in Helena, East Helena, and Townsend. Sometimes we just go sight seeing. (We’re 15 minutes from Canyon Ferry Lake.) In December, we tour neighborhoods famous for their Christmas spirit and we thater at the Civic Center for Helena’s annual Festival of Trees. Weather permitting, any time of the year, we walk the Shelby House Linear Park for exercise, enjoy the landscape and views plus the many wild birds that visit our feeders. Saturday afternoons are filled with a good movie, popcorn, snacks, and great discussions after.
Every month we celebrate staff and resident birthdays. Holidays are always a special event and we invite friends and family to join us.
It doesn’t take long at all to feel at home at the Shelby House because everyone reaches out with their heart and, well, you know…home is where the heart is..
